One more Warzone figure

As it is easy to imagine, I've not been very productive in the past couple of weeks.

I got back from Canada on March 3rd and I got sick right after, I was out for a full week with the flu and could not even sit at the painting desk.

The following week I managed to paint a bit and get some stuff finished, so I will be posting more figures in the next weeks.

The WW2 British 8th army is coming along and there will be pics next Monday.

In the meantime I refurbished a Warzone model that my friend Adrian gave me during my Canadian visit.

It is a Warzone Razide from 1st edition that he painted many years ago. It had a few chips and was standing on a small 25mm base, so it was quite unstable. I fixed up a few scratches and rebased it, so it is now consistent with the rest of my collection.

It is not much, but with the Battletech game pictures I posted yesterday should give you enough to look at until next week.

Battletech big game, part 1

Yesterday we had the first part of a fairly big game of Battletech.

We had four players for a scenario set during the Clan invasion of 3050. The scenario saw Clan Smoke Jaguar advancing towards Luthien, the Kurita capital.

The Draconis Combine sent out a company to stop, or at least soften up two stars of Omnimechs and Elemental battle armor, trying to inflict the most possible damage.

We played about 4 and a half hours, at a quite relaxed pace and managed 4 turns.

Luckily we could leave the game set and we will be completing it in a couple of weeks.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea of the game:

The terrain was all scratch built by Omar, while the mechs are mostly mine, with some from Gian's collection.
So far the game is going well, the Kuritan force is holding up thanks to the good defensive position it is occupying and, at shorter range the technological advantage of the Clans is offset by the heavier armor of the Inner Sphere mechs.
The scenario awards victory points based on the tonnage of mechs destroyed or cripples, so the Inner Sphere is at a disadvantage there, we will have to see how the game evolves in the second part.

There will be a follow up post in a couple of weeks.
