My second Dark ages army finally complete/Il mio secondo esercito dei secoli bui finalmente completo

 Many years after starting it, I finally completed my Picts army, it all started around 2006, when IlVJ was working for GW in Tokyo and, during a visit to Nottingham, we headed over to Wargames Foundry and bought a lot of Anglo-Saxons (IlVJ) and Normans (me).

The following year we bought more dark ages stuff from Old Glory, Irish for IlVJ and Picts for me. I went for the Picts for the fact that they were around, one way or another, for very long, I could use them against Late Romans or Normas, with everything in between.

I painted all my picts with the then revolutionary Devlan Mud, except for the Noble Cavalry, which was left unpainted and in 2009 was joined by a Gripping Beast starter set that our friend John gave me when he come to visit from England (thanks a lot mate).

I now finally (14 years later) got around to complete all the remaining Picts. 

As with the Normans, I call the army complete, but won't be against adding whatever figure I happen to come across in future trades or as payment for painting, I won't just be buying any more.

Molti anni dopo averlo iniziato, ho finalmente completato il mio esercito di Pitti. Avevo cominciato questo progetto nel 2006 quando IlVJ lavorava per la GW a Tokyo e, durante una visita a Nottingham, avevamo fatto visita alla Wargames Foundry e comprato parecchi Anglosassoni (IlVJ) e Normanni (io).

L'anno seguente acquistammo altri pezzi per i secoli bui dalla Old Glory, Irlandesi per IlVJ e Pitti per me. io scelsi i Pitti per il fatto che furono attivi per parecchio tempo e con un esercito di pitti avrei potuto combattere dai Tardo Romani ai Normanni, e tutto quello che ci sta in mezzo.

Al tempo dipinsi i Pitti con l'allora rivoluzionario Devlan Mud, eccetto un'unita' di nobili a cavallo, ai quali, nel 2009, si aggiunse uno starter set della Grippign Beast regalatomi dal nosto amico John quando venne a trovarmi dall'Inghilterra.

Ora, dopo soli 14 anni, sono riuscito a finire tutti i Pitti rimanenti.

Come per i Normanni, considero il progetto completo, ma non sono opposto ad aggiungerre qualunque pezzo appropriato che potrei ottenere tramite scambi o come pagamento per pittura, semplicemente non ne comprero' piu'.

More DBA elements and 1/72 historical miniatures/Altri elementi per DBA e miniature storiche in 1/72

 I recently finished a big commission of WWII Soviet infantry with Quick Shade, so I dipped, at the same time, the few 1/72 models I had ready with a base coat, this slowly moves my huge 1/72 project forward.

I also completed few more Samurai in 1/72, but those are so slow going that it will be quite a while before I'll be able to post the complete project.

Ho recentemente completato una frossa commissione di fanteria Sovietica fatta con il Quick Shade, quindi, allo stesso tempo, ho dippato alcuni altri pezzi storici in 1/72 per portare lentamente avanti l'enorme progetto di finire tutti i pezzi in 1/72 che ho.

Nel mucchio ho anche dippato alcuni Samurai, ma quelli stanno procedendo talmente lentamente che ci vorra' ancora un bel po' prima di vedere il progetto completo.

Early imperial roman infantry. These are leftover Early Imperial roman legionaries I had from my childhood, they were missing their shields (a part from the centurion), so I used some leftover repubblican shields, so I consider them from the transitioning time under Mario when the equipment was slowly upgraded, probably historically incorrect, but at least I saved few models

Questi sono dei pezzi che avevo avanzati da un set di quando ero bambino, avevo perso gli scudi (a parte quello del centurione), quindi ho usato degli scudi repubblicani avanzati, quindi li considero del periodo di transizione sotto Mario quando l'equipaggiamento veniva cambiato, probabilmente storicamente incorretto, ma cosi' ho salvato qualche pezzo.

Bretonnian heralds/Araldi bretonniani

 Thuis week we have a couple of very old Citadel models, they are 80s pre-slotta historical horsemen, but, like in Dave Andrews 3rd edition Bretonnian army, they will be used as fantasy models.

They will probably mostly be musicians in Bretonnian knights units, for now I'm happy to have painted them, what use they will get will be defined in the future.

Questa settimana abbiamo un paio di pezzi molto vecchi della Citadel, dei cavalieri storici pre-slotta anni '80, ma, come nell'esercito Bretonniano della terza edizione di Dave Andrews, saranno utilizzati come modelli fantasy.

Probabilmente li inseriro' in qualche unita' di cavalieri bretonniani come musici, per adesso sono molto contento di averli dipinti, quale uso ne faro' in futuro si vedra'.

RPG creatures/Creature da GDR

 This week a small post, I'm in that phase of the year where I'm preparing and priming figures for next winter season, so the actual painting is slowed down for a few months.

I still have a couple of RPG creatures, old Ral Partha models that I really enjoyed painting and have already seen some limited tabletop use.

Questa settimana solo un piccolo post, sono nella fase dell'anno in cui preparo e primero pezzi per la prossima stagione invernale, quindi la pittura vera e propria rallenta per qualche mese.

Sono comunque riuscito a dipingere un paio di creature da GDR, vecchi pezzi Ral Partha che mi sono molto divertito a dipingere e che hanno gia' visto un limitato utilizzo sul tavolo.

Various DBA elements/Elementi vari per DBA

The project to finish the ton of 1/72 models I have is slowly progressing.

Among other things, I'm trying to complete the DBA stuff I have, here are some figures I had needed paint to complete some DBA armies.

More will come in the future, but this is a good start.

Il progetto di finire la tonnellata di pezzi che ho in 1/72 sta lentamente avanzando.

Insieme ad altre cose, sto cercando di completare quello che ho di DBA, in questo post ci sono alcuni pezzi che mi servono per completare degli eserciti di DBA.

Altri sono in via di completamento, ma questo e' un buon inizio.

Rifts mercs/Mercenari per Rifts

 A few figures I converted and painted for Rifts as mercenaries, the robot is a Gundam that I converted to look more appropriate for 28mm scale.

The idea is that this is are the scouting and heavy support elements of a merc company, I will have to find some figures appropriate for grunts and officers, but one step at the time...

Qlcuni nuovi pezzi che ho convertito e dipinto come mercenari per Rifts, il robot e' un Gundam convertito appropriatamente per scala 28mm.

L'idea e' che questi siano gli elementi di esplorazione e supporto pesante di una compagnia di mercenari, non mi resta che trovare pezzi adatti per fanteria e ufficiali, ma una cosa alla volta...

New figures for RIFTS rpg, Free Quebec army/Nuovi pezzi per RIFTS gdr, eserciuto del Free Quebec

 These are some models I painted with the idea of using them for Rifts games. I also have ideas of using them for Rifts themed games using Rogue Trader rules, at the moment it is just an idea, maybe I will manage to actually do that in the future, we will see.

I would use anything that looks good and somewhat matches the look and feel of the rifts art pieces seen in the books.

In this specific post we have some Free Quebec themed models, I used a very dark blue colour scheme with white highlights as mentioned in the lore with skull where possible, to match the CS theme.

The infantry unit is from Grendel, they can represent grunts of special forces and have a wide variety of weapons to choose from. 

The walker is a Terminator Salvation model that my brother converted and crewed with a WW2 german soldier, I think it looks perfect for the Coalition States style.

Questi sono alcuni pezzi che ho dipinto con l'idea di usarli per una campagna di Rifts. Ho anche in progetto di usarli per delle partite di wargames a tema Rifts usando le regole di Rogue Trader.

Per ora e' solo un'idea, ma staremo a vedere, magari in furuto riusciro' a metterla in pratica.

Per questo progetto uso qualunque modello che abbia elementi estetici simili alle illustrazioni dei libri di Rifts.

In questo specifico post abbiamo dei modelli di uno dei membri dei Coalition States, Free Quebec. Ho usato uno schema blu scuro con dettagli bianchi, come descritto nei libri, aggiungendo, dove possibile, dei teschi per mantenere il tema dei CS.

L'unita' di fanteria e' della Grendel, possono rappresentare della fanteria regolare o elite, a seconda delle situazioni ed hanno un'ottima varieta' di armamenti per ogni evenienza.

Il camminatore e' un pezzo di Terminator Salvation che mio fratello ha modificato aggiungendo, tra le altre cose, una minaitura tedesca della seconda guerra mondiale come pilota/cannoniere. Direi che il look e' perfetto per i CS.

 These are a few stands I recently painted. This is all I have of Italian troops, I will use them as allies for Eastern front Germans.
