Warhammer ogres/Ogre di Warhammer

This is a trio of Heroquest plastic ogers I recently finished.
They were missing a few arms and a head, but I managed to salvage them with bits I had and to make a little three man unit for Warhammer or Battlesystem.

Questo e' un trio di ogre di Heroquest che ho finito di recente.
Mancavano alcune braccia ed una testa, ma sono riuscito a sistemarli con dei pezzi avanzati che avevo ed a fare una piccola unita' da tre uomini.

Assault of the frost giants/L'assalto dei giganti dei ghiacci

This week I have what I consider a special post. I painted all these giants last year, but only got around to finish the bases now.
I really wanted some kind of snow on frost giants bases, the idea is that they would come down from the mountains or glaciers where they dwell and the area would not be completely covered in snow, maybe in the end of winter where grass starts to show where the snow melts.
I used Woodland Scenics snow effect, I read how to handle it on a very nice terrain building book that my brother gave me and I think I got the result I was looking for.

Questa settimana ho quello che considero un post speciale. Ho dipinto questi giganti l'anno scorso, ma sono solo riuscito a finire i piedistalli adesso.
Volevo avere della neve sui piedistalli dei giganti dei ghiacci, l'idea e' che siano scesi dalle montagne e dai ghiacciai dove vivono e che il terreno non sia completamente coperto di neve, magari verso la fine dell'inverno quando l'erba inizia a sbucare dalla neve che si scioglie.
Ho usato un effetto neve della Woodland Scenics, ho letto come maneggiarlo su un ottimo libro di scenografie invernali che mi ha regalato mio fratello e penso di essere riuscito ad ottenere il risultato che volevo.

The tribe in all its glory, the big giant is much more modern compared to all the others, but I can use him as the Jarl in command of the whole tribe/La tribu' in tutta la sua gloria, il gigante piu' grande e' molto piu' moderno degli altri, ma posso usarlo cone Jarl della tribu'.

Some historical miniatures/Un po' di miniature storiche

This is another bunch of historical miniatures that I recently painted.
As some I posted in the recent past, they are not part of any army (a part from the Normans) and I have and will be using them for Warhammer or Battlesystem or D&D games.
I really enjoyed painting them and I still have quite a bunch that will join them later this year.


Questo e' un gruppo di miniature storiche che ho dipinto di recente.
Come altre in passato, non fanno parte di nessun esercito (tranne i Normanni) e verranno utilizzate per Warhammer, Battlesystem e D&D.
Mi sono immensamente divertito a dipingerle e ne ho ancora un buon numero che prevedo di dipingere piu' avanti quest'anno.

New year of painting/Un nuovo anno di pittura

So, this is the first post of 2020, but the piece that I'm posting was actually finished and accounted for in 2019.
It is a tower that I built out of cardboard and some plastic bits from my bits box, the ominous horse heads that everyone has in its leftovers and never knows what to do with.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the result and it is a small addition to my desperately small terrain collection that I have been traying to expand since I moved to Canada.
For 2020 I will try to get more buildings done, as well as possibly a river and some woods and hills, the basics for a decnt table.

Eccoci al primo post del 2020, anche se il pezzo che vado a mostrare e' stato finito e contato nella produzione del 2019.
E' una torre che ho costruito con cartone e alcuni avanzi di modelli in plastica dalla mia bits box, le onnipresenti teste di cavallo che tutti hanno e nessuno sa mai come utilizzare.
Nel complesso sono abbastanza sodisfatto del risultato e questa torre costituisce una picola aggiunta alla mia disperatamente piccola collezione di elementi scenici che cerco pian piano di ingrandire da quando mi sono trasferito in Canada.
Per il 2020 cerchero' di costruire piu' edifici, possibilmente un fiume e qualche collina e bosco, elementi abbastanza basilari per un tavolo decente.
