Oldhammer Fimir unit/Unita' Oldhammer di Fimir

 This is a small project I have wanted to put together for a long time. 

Over 25 years ago I bought a Fimir, mainly because I had never seen one for sale before and it seemed me to be a very cool and unusal creature.

I painted it right away, but ended up using unly a couple of times in some RoC warband or odd game over the years. I then stripped the paint off of it and decided to paint it again, possibly with more of his kind.

The problem is that buying expensive Oldhammer miniatures is against my principles and so the fimir had to wait alone and unpainted for a few years.

After some time the solution presented itself in the form of 5 Heroquest fimirs I fot in a lot I acquired as payment for a painting commission, so I finally had my fimir unit.

After adding shields to the heroquest models, converting one with a standard and a free hand banner which I am very proud of  and using the metal one as a leader I completed a very nice looking unit that will, hopefully see a battlefield soon.

Questo e' un piccolo progetto che volevo completare da molto tempo.

Oltre 25 anni fa comprai un Fimir, principalmente perche' non ne avevo mai trovato uno in vendita prima e perche' mi sembrava un mostro strano e inusuale.

Lo dipinsi subito, ma lo usai giusto un paio di volte, in una warband di RoC e in una qualche partita negli anni successivi. Dopo un certo tempo lo scerniciai e decisi di rifarlo, magari con altri membri della sua razza per fare un'unita'.

Il problema e' che mi rifiuto di pagare prezzi assurdi per modelli Oldhammer, quindi il povero fimiri visse per anni in solitudine in una scatola.

La soluzione si presento' alcuni anni dopo quando acquisii 5 Fimir di Heroquest in un lotto di miniature ottenuto come pagamento per una commissione di pittura, potendo finalmente mettere insieme la mia unita' di fimir.

Dopo aver aggiunto degli scudi ai modelli di Heroquest, averne convertito uno con uno stendardo dipinto a mano libera di cui vado molto fiero ed aver usato quello in metallo come comandante, ho finalmente completato una bella unita' di Fimir, spero che possa presto vedere un campo di battaglia.
