These are a bunch of models IlVJ painted quite a while ago, but never took pictures of. During my visit I noticed them and took the chance to take pictures.
Apparently he hasn't been playing many games recently (none), so the interest drifted to other periods (mostly Napoleonic and WWII), but I hope he'll get around to do more colonial stuff and maybe start playing Congo, I checked the book at his place and it really looks interesting, with that feel between wargame and rpg.
Questi sono alcuni pezzi che IlVJ ha dipinto qualche tempo fa, ma di cui non ha mai fatto le foto. Durante la mia visita ne ho approfittato per rettificare questa mancanza.
A quanto pare IlVJ non e' riuscito a giocare molto (niente) a ciochi coloniali, quindi l'interesse si e' spostato ad altri periodi (principalmente napoleonico e seconda guerra modiale), ma spero che torni a dipingere altri pezzi per il coloniale e magari inizi a giocare a Congo, ho sfogliato il libro a casa sua e sembra molto interessante, con un gusto tra il wargame ed il gioco di ruolo, molto narrativo.

This is an unusual post, I just come back from two weeks in Japan visiting my brother (IlVJ).
After over three years we managed to get some gaming and painting time together.
This is a little account of what we did mostly related, in our typical style, with a lot of pictures and not too many words.
Questo post e' diverso dai soliti, sono appena tornato da due settimane in Giappone a trovare mio fratello (IlVJ).
Dopo oltre tre anni siamo riusciti ad avere un'occasione per giocare e dipingere insieme.
Questo e' un piccolo resoconto di quello che abbiamo fatto, raccontato nel nostro tipico stile, molte foto e poche parole.
Battle of Berlin/Battaglia di Berlino
The first gaming activity was a massive Bolt Action game at our friend James' house in Chiba.
He built a gorgeous table representing the suburbs of Berlin and me ane IlVJ were in charge of the Soviet assault, while James was in command of the German last defence.
We ended up winning, but by such a small margin that we could call it a draw.
Le attivita' ludiche sono state aperte da una partita gigante di Bolt Action a casa del nostro amico James in Chiba.
Ha preparato un bellissimo tavolo urbano che rappresenta i sobborghi di Berlino ed io e ilVJ eravamo al comando dell'incursione Sovietica, mentre James dirigeva la difesa tedesca.
Alla fine abbiamo vinto noi, ma con un margine talmente minimo che potremmo chiamarlo un pareggio.

Dark ages Irish/Irlandesi dei secoli bui
During the following days we managed do get some painting done, we moved the Dark ages Irishs project forward and IlVJ should finish them in the following months, let's see what happens.
This started with me doing the block painting and now we dipped them and IlVJ should proceed to highlight and base them.
It is a quite big project with about 230 infantry models and 17 cavalry, 60 of the infantry have already been finished, so there is 170 left, good luck to IlVJ.
Nei giornis eguenti siamo riusciti a dipingere, portando avanti il progetto degli Irlandesi dei secoli bui che IlVJ dovrebbe finire nei prossimi mesi, aspettiamo di vedere il risultato finale.
Il progetto e' iniziato quando io ho dato i colori di base a tutte le miniature dell'esercito, ora li abbiamo dippati e IlVJ dovrebbe ora lumeggaire tutto e fare i piedistalli.
E' un progetto bello grosso con circa 230 pezzi di fanteria e 17 di cavalleria, 60 dei fanti sono gia' finiti, quindi ne restano 170, forza VJ.
Boardgames
And finally we also managed some classic boardgaming with old GW games, Dungeonquest and Chaos Marauders/E per ultimo siamo anche riusciti a giocare a qualche boardgame GW classico, Dungeonquest e Chaos Marauder.
Overall we had a great time and we look forward to the next nerd family reunion.
Nel complesso ci siamo divertiti molto e non vediamo l'ora che arrivi la prossima riunione di famiglia nerd.
