A big project completed/Un grosso progetto completato

 This week I'm finally posting a project I started over a year ago, a set of toy dinosaurs I got at a dollar store onto which I built howdahs for a crew to ride.

The thought behind this idea is that if ancient Indians rode into battle on elephants, I could have a fantasy version riding dinosaurs. I got a bunch of historical Indians in a trade and since there were not enough for an army, I wanted to find some cool idea to use them. At the same time I was looking at old White Dwarf pictures with toy dinosaurs converted for fantasy games and I put the two together and came up with this project.

It took very long mostly because each one was quite a bit of work and I tend to get distracted easily.

I completed them in stages (dinosaurs, bases, crew and howdahs) and then I finally put them all together.

I think the overall look is pretty nice and even if it will be hard to use them in real gaming situations, I hope I will have a chance to get them to run on the battlefield at some point.

Questa settimana posto finalmente un progetto iniziato oltre un anno fa, una serie di dinosauri giocattolo che ho comprato in uno discount e cui quali ho costruito delle piattaforme per un equipaggio.

Il ragionamento dietro a questo progetto e' l'idea che se gli antichi Indiani andavano in battaglia sul dorso di elefanti, una versione fantasy avrebbe utilizzato dei dinosauri. Ho ottenuto gli Indiani in un baratto tempo fa, ma siccome non ne avevo abbastanza per un esercito, volevo trovare un'idea originale per utilizzarli comunque. In quel periodo stavo guardando vecchie foro su White Dwarf di dinosauri giocattolo convertiti per giochi fantasy, ho messo le due indee isnieme ed e' venuto fuori questo progetto.

Mi ci e' voluto cosi' tanto per finitrlo solo perche' mi distraggo facilmente.

Li ho completati in diverse fasi (dinosauri, basi, equipaggio e piattaforme) e li ho finalmente assemblati.

Nel complesso sono soddisfatto del risultato e anche se, come molti dei miei progetti, avranno poche occasioni di correre per un campo di battaglia, non si sa mai.

Starships/Astronavi

 These are a bunch of starships and star fighters from a sci-fi board game based on chess set that a friend gave me. They have no real scale and do not really match any existing game, but could be used as tokens or something similar for campaign maps. 

They might never see any use, but I enjoyed painting them.  

Queste sono alcune astronavi e caccia provenientid a un gioco di fantascienza simile agli scacchi. Mi furono regalate da un amico tempofa. Non hanno una scala ben definita e non sembrano adatte ad alcun gioco esistente, ma penso di poterle usare per come segnalini per qualche campagna su mappa o cose simili.

Probabilmente non saranno mai utilizzate, ma mi sono divertito a dipingerle.

More Polish knights/Altri cavalieri Polacchi

 This is the last unit of 13thg century Polish knights I had to paint. It brings the total of polish knights to 30, plus 20 between retainers and Lithuanian light horses.

The last unit I will have to paint is a 30 man Lithuanian spearmen unit, but that will have to wait a little longer before seeing any paint.

Questa e' l'ultima unita' di cavalieri Polacchio del tredicesimo secolo che avevo da dipingere. Porta il totale a 30 cavalieri, piu' 20 tra vassalli e cavalieri leggeri Lituani.

L'ultima unita' che mi rimane da dipingere e' un blocco di 30 lanceri Lituani, ma questa unita' dovra' attendere ancora un po' prima di ricevere del colore.

Khorne reinforcements for Warhammer (Oldhammer)/Rinforzi di Khorne per Warhammer (Oldhammer)

 A substantial addition to the forces of Khorne in my Warhammer army.

The beastmen and thug archers are the last models from the Battlemasters set that my friend Marco gave me many years ago.

The goblins are an addition to for the 120 chaos goblins unit that I should be able to finish with the remaining Ral Partha goblins I have to paint (20-25).

The warrior of Khorne is made with various bits I had lying around, I used the head of a daemon produced by a store in Torino that I was given many years ago, it came with 2 heads and the unused one looked like a cool sculpted breastplate for a chaos warrior.

The Bloodletter was a lonely one I had in my pile.

Un sostanziale rinforzo per il mio esercido di Khorne di Warhammer.

I beastmen ed i thugs arcieri sono gli ultimi pezzi della scatola di Battlemasters che il mio amico Marco mi regalo' tanti anni fa.

I goblin sono un'aggiunta per l'unita' da 120 chaos goblins su cui lavoro da quando sono venuto in Canada, dovrei riuscire a completarla con gli ultimi pezzi della Ral Partha che ho (20-25).

Il guerrero di Khorne e' fatoo con vari avanzi che avevo, ho usato la testa di un demone prodotto da un negozio di Torino che avevo ricevuto anni fa. Il pezzo aveva due teste e quella che non ho usato mi sembrava andasse bene come pettorina scolpita per un guerriero del chaos.

Il Bloodletter era un pezzo singolo che avevo nel mucchio.

WWII French infantry/Fanteria francese della prima guerra mondiale

 This is a set of French infantry that IlVJ gifted me years ago, I finally got around to paint them. 

The set also contained 4 anti tank gun crew that I painted, but I still have to find a gun, so they have not been photographed, they will have to wait until they are complete with their gun.

Questo e' un set di francesi della seconda guerra mondiale che IlCJ mi regalo' anni fa, finalmente li ho dipinti.

Il set contiene anche 4 serventi per un cannone anticarro. Li ho dipinti, ma siccome non ho ancora trovato loro un cannone, dovranno aspettare prima di essere fotografati come unita' completa.
