One more Warzone figure

As it is easy to imagine, I've not been very productive in the past couple of weeks.

I got back from Canada on March 3rd and I got sick right after, I was out for a full week with the flu and could not even sit at the painting desk.

The following week I managed to paint a bit and get some stuff finished, so I will be posting more figures in the next weeks.

The WW2 British 8th army is coming along and there will be pics next Monday.

In the meantime I refurbished a Warzone model that my friend Adrian gave me during my Canadian visit.

It is a Warzone Razide from 1st edition that he painted many years ago. It had a few chips and was standing on a small 25mm base, so it was quite unstable. I fixed up a few scratches and rebased it, so it is now consistent with the rest of my collection.

It is not much, but with the Battletech game pictures I posted yesterday should give you enough to look at until next week.

More refurbishments

This week we have more refurbished models.

The first three are Warzone figures, specifically Tribes of the Earth Templar horde troopers. As before they had been dipped and I went over and highlighted them a bit.

The other one is a Dark Eldar figure. I was never a fan of the concept of Dark Eldar, but this was a model I was gifted by a friend half painted for a Necromunda game.

She was used as a Necromunda hive scum, after more than fifteen years I decided to quickly finish it and get it done with.

Some refurbished models

This week I have some old Warzone figures that I had painted with a quickshade years ago, and now decided to highlight a bit to improve them a bit.

A few years back I had a period of heavy use of the quickshade/dipping product, the idea was that if they were models I would probably never paint, I might as well dip them to get them on the table. Some of them will probably never be touched up (I have a good amount of 40K and fantasy orks done like this), but who knows? I might end up highlighting some of them once in a while.

For now I have these first edition Warzone models for you:

One more Warzone post

These are the last Warzone miniatures I had in Canada, there are still about 20 in Italy, so they'll have to wait until I go back.

These are the Templars Tribe of the Earth, I really enjoyed painting them. The whole idea of the tribes of abandoned mutant humans on polluted Earth is really cool and I'm very happy I found some of these models to paint and possibly play with.

Unfortunately the shit of these guys turned out a bit chalky, I had run out of white so I tried to use a craft paint instead, which turned out not to be a great idea, but they are still ok for the tabletop.

Warzone Dark Legion troops

This weed a few more Dark Legion troops for Warzone.

These are a unit of Destroyers and a loose Destroyer leader for a future unit of Sacristans for which I only have an HMG trooper at the moment.

Sci-fi troops for Warhammer 40K and Warzone

This week we have a small selection of semi-random models I painted for use in Warzone and 40K games, mostly Warzone, since I haven't played a "proper" 40K game in years.

The idea was to have some generic troops to boost the numbers in my Warzone armies, but the mutants were more built and painted as generic troops that could be used in a chaos cult, a genestealer cult or some other for of evil/chaotic army or Warzone Dark Legion.

The "marines" can also be used as Coalition troops for a Rifts RPG.

I'm pretty happy how both units turned out, the marines are from RAFM and were given to me by my friend Cristian years ago, the others are rogue trader imperial guard bodies with early 2000 chaos mutations and marauders bits.

Warzone Brotherhood elite troops

These are the last Brotherhood troops I had to paint, now I have a small, but usable force, with a little bit of options for list composition.

Warzone Dark Eden tribe, Crescentians

I always had a weird fascination for the Earth Tribes, I got in to Warzone towards the end of Second Edition and models were not readily available at the time, even more so the Earth tribes ones.

Last year during a visit to the Sentry Box in Calgary, I found out they still had a bunch of Warzone figures, so I proceeded to get as many as I could and it turned out that most of them were Earth Tribes models.

The Crescentians were the tribe I manage to get almost everything of, I will only need a Prophet and 3 Martyrs to have one unit or character per type, but I am pretty satisfied with what I found.

I started painting these models just over a month ago and it turned out that they are very intricate sculpts with a ton of details, so it took me quite long to complete them, but here they are and I am really happy to have completed them, not I only have to find an excuse to field them in a game or two.

Few random Warzone models

This week just a few Warzone models that I recently painted.

I am currently working on the Earth tribes, specifically the Crescentians, but since they are very intricate models with lots of details, I needed a break and I painted something simpler.

More Warzone goodies

These are a few more Warzone figures I finished recently.

The Cybertronic Chemiman was disappeared as a unit between the first and second edition of the game, I don't know if it was re-introduced in later editions, but I figured I could make up some rules for it or just use it as a Cuirassier, it is big and intimidating enough to pass for one.

The Sons of Rasputin are a nice faction from the Earth tribes, but I only have 5 models for them, let's hope I can find more in the future.

Another Warzone figure

This week another small step forward  in the Warzone project. I'm starting with the few loose models I got in my last trip to Sentry box in Calgary. I picked up all the models I didn't previously have that I could find, some of them, like the Lutheran of last Warzone post and the Imperial Head hunter of this post, were the only models I found of that specific faction, so I'm getting them "out of the way", before I start painting the units I will actually be able to use.

I happened to previously have traded a lone head hunter, so the model in this post will be part of the same squad, if I ever find more to add.

New year, new Warzone

Hello everyone, welcome to the first post of 2024.

It probably won't be a surprise, but Warzone surfaces again.

I said in the past that I had painted all I had, but in a way or another, old Warzone figures keep reappearing on my painting table.

I mentioned last year how I traded about 30 old Warzone figures with a friend, but last spring, I also happened to go with a friend to Sentry Box in Calgary, where I found a bunch of old Warzone figures they had, probably from the 90s and they also happened to be half price, so I couldn't afford to leave them there.

So now I have a new lot of about 45 figures to paint, they have all been prepped and will hopefully be appearing in the following months as I paint them.

Most of them are first edition Tribes of Earth which have a very big charm, even back in the days they were not very popular, so if was kind of rare to see them on the battlefield.

The rest is a handful of Brotherhood and other random models, plus a few units and character models of the Dark Legion, an all time favorite of mine, I'm looking forward to work on them.

In the next few weeks you sill see other stuff, fantasy and historical mainly, because I am in the process of closing up some other projects, but then I think I'll start working on Warzone.

For now I just completed a single model.
