Yesterday IlVJ and James met for a game of Bolt Action. They used IlVJ newly painted Italian and British armies and terrain. Here you are some pictures of the clash.
It ended in an Italian victory.
Ieri IlVJ e James si sono trovati per una partita di Bolt Action. Hanno utilizzato gli eserciti italiano e britannico che IlVJ ha dipointo di recente ed i suoi terreni africani. Ecco alcune foto dello scontro.
Si e' concluso con una vittoria del Regio Esercito.
IlVJ has been very productive with the 1/700 scale WWII naval project, in this post I'll show a bunch of new ships as well as the previous ones with new bases.
IlVJ e' stato molto produttivo sul progetto navale della Seconda guerra mondiale in scala 1/700, in questo posto mostro alcune navi nuove, insieme a quelle precendenti ora fornite di piedistallo.
I haven't painted anything Battletech in a long time, so I threw a couple of old plastic mechs on the painting table and got them done while working on something else.
I recently went through my Battletech collection and planned how to paint the 100ish mechs I still have to do. I will try bring most of my forces to at least company size, just to give a sense of completion to the units.
My still unnamed black and yellow mercenary unit has been composed of two lances for a while, so I decided to add the third lance and call the unit complete.
These two mechs are number 9 and 10 of the unit, another 2 and it will be done.
E' da un pezzo che non dipingevo nulla per Battletech, quindi ho buttato un paio di vecchi mech di plastica sul tavolo da pittura e li ho dipinti mentre lavoravo su altro.
Di recente ho censito la mia collezione di Battletech e ho pianificato come completare i circa 100 mech che devo ancora dipingere. Ho deciso di portare la maggior parte delle unita' a livello compagnia, per dare un senso di completezza alle varie forze.
La mia sncora innominata unita' di mercenari gialli e neri e' stata composta da due lance gia' per un po', quindi ho deciso di aggiungerne una terza e considerarla completa.
Questi sono i mech 9 e 10 dell'unita', ancora due e sara' completa.
IlVJ has been struck by a new bug, WWII naval wargame. He got lured into it by reading material on the North African campaign while putting together his armies for that theatre.
Since Japan is the land of model kits, he ended up buying a warship in 1/700 scale, then another one, then getting another dozen or so from a friend, and so on. Now he is deep into another project and he fell in love with a very old set of rules by Fletcher Pratt. Apparently it is a very good set of very traditional rules that inspired many other games, Battletech amongst many others.
In this post the first couple of ships IlVJ built, with the almost customary links to know more about the models and the real thing.
IlVJ si e' preso una nuova malattia, il wargame navale della Seconda guerra mondiale. E' stato attratto dall'argomento leggendo materiale di riferimento sulla campagna d'Africa mentre lavorava sugli eserciti per quel teatro.
Siccome il Giappone e' la terra dei kit da modellismo, IlVJ ha finito per comprare una nave in scala 1/700, poi una seconda, poi un suo amico glie ne ha regalata un'altra dozzina, e cosi' via. Adesso e' immerso in un nuovo progetto e si e' innamorato di un vecchio regolamento di Fletcher Pratt. A quanto pare si tratta di un ottimo regolamento molto tradizionale che ha sipirato molti altri giochi, tra cui Battletech.

This week a single monster for Call of Cthulhu, this is a refurbuished model that IlVJ bought in the mid 90s, he then traded with a friend who kept it for a couple of decades and then gifted it back to us.
Since IlVJ had painted another flying polyp in the meantime, he gave it to me. I added a couple long tentacles to make it look different from the other one we have and voila', flying polyp n.2 is here.
Questa settimana ho solo un mostro del Richiamo di Cthulhu, e' un pezzo ristrutturato che IlVJ compro' a meta' anni '90, poi baratto' con un nostro amico che, un paio d'anni fa, ce lo ri-regalo' e, siccome IlVJ nel frattempo aveva dipinto un'altra piovra volante, e' finito a me che gli ho aggiunto un paio di tentacoli e l'ho dipinta.
This is not exactly an infantry platoon, more a collection of the leftover German infantry I had lying around that got finally painted.
They are mainly models from Esci, including a few of the older hard palstic kits from the earli 80s and a few Revell pioneers.
They are not very many, but enough for a small game, if I add some armour to them.
Questo non e' esattamente un plotone di fanteria, ma piuttosto una collezione di avanzi di fanteria tedesca che avevo in giro e che ho finalmente dipinto.
Sono principalmente pezzi della Esci, inclusi alcuni dei piu' vecchi kit in plastica dura dei primi anni '80 che si riconoscono perche di maggiori dimensioni rispetto ai piu' recenti in plastica morbida ed alcuni genieri della Revell.
Non sono moltissimi, ma abbastanza per piccole partite, una volta rinforzati con dei corazzati.
